Villa Alexandre Dumas in Arcachon
A remarkable testament to Belle Époque opulence and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful villas in Arcachon’s historic Winter Town district, Villa Alexandre Dumas majestically overlooks Arcachon Bay.
Built in 1895, the villa exemplifies the resort architecture of the era, blending Neo-Basque, Spanish, and Italian influences.
Originally named Osiris by its first owner, Daniel Iffla—a renowned banker, philanthropist, and patron of the arts—the villa was renamed Alexandre Dumas around 1907.
The property combines Hispanic architectural elements with a belvedere inspired by rustic Italian villas. This striking tower, rivaling that of nearby Villa Coulaine, dominates the landscape and offers exceptional panoramic views over Arcachon Bay.

Villa Téthys in Pyla-sur-Mer
Beautifully situated on the shores of Arcachon Bay, Villa Téthys is an architectural masterpiece dating from the early twentieth century.
The villa is one of five residences designed by architect Roger-Henri Expert between 1924 and 1927. Named after the Greek sea goddess Tethys, the property is organized around a vast central rotunda inspired by both Greek and Palladian architecture.
Facing west toward the sea, the villa opens eastward onto a formal garden also designed by Expert, where architecture, vegetation, and water features blend harmoniously to create a more intimate atmosphere.

Bird Island (Île aux Oiseaux) is one of Arcachon Bay’s most iconic landmarks, famous for its traditional cabins and especially the two historic stilted huts known as the
Cabanes Tchanquées.
