I am Elodie Langevin, an interior designer in the Arcachon Bay area. I assist my clients in the design and furnishing of high-end villas, combining elegance, natural elements, and comfort.
A villa that has become iconic on the Arcachon Bay
The villa featured in Guillaume Canet's film "Little White Lies" is located in Cap Ferret in an idyllic setting, surrounded by pine trees and offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. It is decorated in a style that is both elegant and relaxed, with particular attention to detail and the use of natural materials, typical of the architecture of the Arcachon Basin.
Max's house – the character played by François Cluzet – is located in the heart of the "44 Hectares" district , a protected and wild area situated at the tip of the cape, between the ocean and the bay. The five wooden cabins that make it up are reminiscent of the oyster farming villages that characterize the Arcachon Bay: a true miniature village!
The interior decoration of the villa is eclectic, with family furniture combined with a few vintage pieces, nautical antiques... An opening to the Ocean, an invitation to travel and above all a friendly and relaxed lifestyle... Everything was needed to seduce director Guillaume Canet and convince him to film his movie Little White Lies there , a story of holidays and friendship.
There are several bedrooms spread across the five cabins, each with its own unique style, as well as modern bathrooms. The entire property is furnished with comfortable furniture and rustic-chic decorative accessories, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere . The décor primarily features shades of white, beige, and gray, with touches of dark wood to add depth and texture.
The kitchen is large and fully equipped, with a central stainless steel island for easy cooking for many guests.
With its expansive terrace designed like a village square, the villa was conceived as a gathering place for friends, offering numerous spaces to meet and spend time together, whether around the pool, on the terrace, or in the interior living areas. It's an incredible place for a relaxing holiday with friends or family.
Why this villa embodies a certain art of living in Cap Ferret
More than just a movie set, this house perfectly reflects a way of life specific to the Arcachon Basin.
A simple architecture, open to the outside, where natural materials take center stage. Wood, light, fluid circulation between spaces… Everything is designed to create an atmosphere that is both warm and elegant, without ostentation .
It is precisely this balance that is now referenced in many high-end secondary residence projects : a place designed for entertaining, getting together, and fully enjoying its surroundings.
Recreating that spirit in a villa today
This type of atmosphere, both natural and sophisticated, is at the heart of many projects I carry out in the Arcachon Basin and at Pyla.
The goal is not to reproduce a style, but to recapture a feeling : that of a fluid, luminous place, where each element finds its place with precision.
This involves precise work on volumes, materials, colors, but also on furniture and details, to create a coherent and durable whole over time.
